Camponotus singularis is a large and beautiful Asian species of Camponotus which does not require hibernation due to their warm habitat. This Ant comes from the Carpenter Ant Genus Camponotus and can develop quickly and create a large colony.
This large Camponotus has a lovely Red head and an unusual coloured Brownish-Green abdomen. Camponotus singularis can produce very large and aggressive Major workers which measure almost as large as their Queen. These Major workers can reach up to 19mm in length and are a pretty impressive sight. The smaller workers are called Minor workers.
The nest should have both a dry and moist area. An additional heat source is recommended.
In nature the Camponotus singularis has only one Queen per colony. A well established Queen and colony can number up to 4,000 worker Ants.
